Osler Travel Award for Research in the History of Medicine
Grants of up to £4000 are available to support medical undergraduates at UK universities with an interest in the history of medicine to travel to the United States or Canada to undertake research in medical history using resources available there which are not available in the UK or online.
The award is funded by the Osler Club of London, the History of Medicine Society (Royal Society of Medicine), the Hunterian Society, the Scottish Society of the History of Medicine, the Friends of Millbank, the John Blair Trust, and the British Society for the History of Medicine.
The application deadline for the first awards has now been extended to 28 February 2026 so candidates have more time to get confirmation from institutions in North America.
In case of difficulty, the awards committee will try to facilitate contact with the North American institution. For more information, contact grahamakyle33@gmail.com.
